Meet our economists:
Alex Carrick
Alex Carrick carried out his undergraduate work at the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada), then completed an M. A. in Economics and the first year towards a Doctorate at the University of Toronto. Since 1985, Mr. Carrick has held the position of Chief Economist with Reed Construction Data's CanaData, the leading supplier of statistics and forecasting information for the Canadian construction industry. Each fall, Mr. Carrick oversees CanaData’s Annual Construction Forecast publication and updates the information throughout the year in the CanaData Forecaster newsletter (monthly). He is often quoted in the media, especially in the two construction newspapers, The Daily Commercial News and The Journal of Commerce.
Louis Centorcelli
Louis Centorcelli is the Director of Business Development for Market Analytics for Reed Construction Data. Louis works closely with the Reed economists and the Reed proprietary databases in order to develop detailed market solutions for the construction community. Louis did his undergraduate work at Georgetown University where he earned his BS with a concentration in International Economics. He then earned his MS degree with a concentration in Econometrics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

John Clinkard
John Clinkard was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and received his B.A. (Honours Economics) from the University of Waterloo and his M.A. (Economics) from York University. He is a former President of the Toronto Association of Business Economists and has served in an advisory capacity to a number of organizations including the federal and provincial governments and the Toronto Board of Trade. John started C.K. Research Associates, a small economic consultancy that focuses on the key economic factors affecting the construction industry, in 2003. He writes a twice-weekly column, The Economic Snapshot, in The Daily Commercial News and The Journal of Commerce, and is Contributing Economist to Reed Construction Data – CanaData’s Forecaster Newsletter and the Annual Construction Forecast.

Jim Haughey is Director of Economics at Reed Business Information. He has over thirty years experience as a business economist, including twenty years monitoring the construction market. He has previously worked in government, corporate and consulting roles and has taught at the University of Michigan, Ohio University, Michigan State University and the University of Massachusetts. He has a Ph.D. degree in economics from the University of Michigan.
